How Can We Help?

The needs are great and we so appreciate your willingness to join us in our efforts to nurture and care for the orphaned and vulnerable children of our world.

Our primary areas of focus are:

• Strengthening Families: by helping them improve food production, increase income and job skills, AIDS awareness, education and prevention, HIV testing and counseling for those found to be HIV positive.
• Empowering Women: through literacy and education, skills training, micro credit loans and stipends for those willing to raise orphans as their own.
• Protecting Children: found in child headed households by providing them with a safe place to live, clean water and food, grief counseling, education, HIV awareness, medical care, skills training and caring adults to encourage and guide them.

The best way for you to help us accomplish these goals is by providing financial support. In this way we can move quickly and in the most productive and sustainable way to meet their needs. We want to foster self reliance and the best way to do that is to provide the means for local people to create jobs, increase food production and provide training and resources to improve their way of life.

There are many ways you and your group or family can help.

Here are just a few ideas that have been successful for others:

• Hold a neighborhood or community 'carnival' where proceeds are given to Mothers Without Borders
• Hold a used book sale, with proceeds to benefit our school in Zambia or one of our literacy programs
• Organize a community yard sale, with proceeds given to Mothers Without Borders to build homes for widows caring for orphans
• Collect hand crafted items, organize a craft boutique and sell items with proceeds earmarked for specific MWB program of interest to you
• Have children/families collect loose change for a month, then have a coin counting party and celebrate the good you have done

These are just a few ideas that can generate the much needed funds for us to continue this critically important work. As you get involved, as you involve your friends, family and neighbors and as you spread the word, you are raising awareness and helping us create solutions all at the same time!
