Carol Zulu dreamed that no child would be forgotten, and all would be loved.

The Carol Zulu Club is a group of dedicated monthly givers committed to Carol's dream.

In Loving Memory

On September 19, 2009, Carol passed away from HIV/AIDS complications at the age of 15. She built a legacy of kindness, trust, humility, passion, generosity, and love. Carol emulated joy and inspired everyone she met to have the courage to dream.

"I met Carol for just a few days just months before she passed. She was very sick but still had the brightest countenance. I learned about love, forgiveness, and true strength of endurance from her example. Her photo is in my home as a reminder of Christ's pure love."

- Kaitlyn, Volunteer 2009–2019

“Carol Zulu loved others deeply and without conditions. The most important lesson Carol taught me, and continues to teach, is the power of one. This little girl from a small village in Africa has touched the lives of so many throughout the world! She also gave the best hugs. When I close my eyes, I can still feel her hugs.”

"I didn't know it was possible to be touched so deeply by someone I've never met. As I hear stories of Carol, I am inspired to stretch and grow. Carol has given me the courage to face hardships with grace and to love more fully."

"Carol chose to live a joy-filled life. While I never met Carol, I will always remember how overwhelmed I was by her love and courage to dream as I stood at her grave—I think of that day often and remember the promise I made to myself, that I would be part of the change."

- Alyssa, Intern 2018–2020

It's about hope. It's about believing where things seem impossible, there is a way forward.
